Painting Boxes in the Cranium

Tiny White one contains
Few precious memories
To not forget

Red ones hold
Anger, fear, regret
Negativity

Yellow shines with
Happiness, faith, encouragement
Positivism

Green boxes
Connection with land
Respecting what we are given

Miniscule Black boxes
Looking beyond with dreams and goals
The unknown and what is yet to come

Life will grow
All around us
We create those boxes

Can the heart contain
A label itself?
Aim in not compartmentalizing

We do not need to label ourselves
Nor the things in our lives
What defines us

Are all things collected
Merging together
There is no space

Nor any room
In the heart
For boxes

Ok, I've been told my short story is TOO short..so, I've gotta tie in something to make it longer-Here is the Intro of a woman in to the story...Check it out..and let me know:) I'm still not able to get internet yet-so,I'm in a cafe temp. Miss you all.....

Wearing a sun dress, she walked down the stairs toward Bethesda. The folds of white and yellow cascading around her hips and legs like a gentle tide dancing along the sand bank. A look of bewilderment on her face, she almost missed the last step, but caught herself gracefully. Carter smiled to himself. He’d never seen her before. ‘She must be a tourist.’ he thought. Just like many tourists, she pulled out a camera and began to snap shots.
She walked all around the fountain. Fixated for some time on the detail in stone, she then turned sideways. Her eyebrows raised when she saw a man (Carter) leaned back against a tree. His pen in hand, scribbling. ‘Odd,’ she thought. He’s not even looking at the page. He was looking in the direction of some canoe’s on the river. She took a picture of him, imagining how it would look in Black and White. The man looked up at her. ‘Busted,’ she thought as her face turned several shades of pink and red like wild rouge used in the 80’s.
He began to gather his things. Carter got up and walked over to a concession stand. He bought two bottles of water, walked over to the woman and handed her one without a word. He was entranced by her. She uttered a thank you and began to apologize when he put his finger to her lips. She backed up a little, unsure and startled. He stuck out his hand and finally spoke,” Hello, I’m Carter.” His face was flushed.

“H H Hello. My name is (insert character name).” she said in a whisper that sent chills through Carter like the first winter wind…

Love is a dream

Love is a dream-few wake up from.

Love is a dream-a fantasy-some might say: a state of mind.... What is love? Feeling? Emotion? Is it that feeling when you hold an infant covered with remains of placenta-and kiss him/her on the forehead ? Is it the pang in ones chest cavity when their emotional -feeling hurt?

I question more when that all goes away. What about those who hold their newborn and feel nothing? Or those, who hide behind the bottle or needles ?

Numbness continues. You can try to run and hide, but it comes around and hits you stronger than anything you could ever imagine.

Love is a dream? A fantasy? A state of mind?

I don't think so! It is very real. We learn to control it, block it, handle it with care and attention...

I like being awake. I like seeing if Love truly exists in Reality. I see what 'looks' /'appears' like love....

You just never know! Love comes in many forms,words, movements, gestures, and even in what's not said....

Sometimes, it's enough. For many, it is never enough-and they remain..in the dream-the fantasy-that state of mind.

Swimming through the course of time
Air tank runs low
I, in the deep cold waters
Struggle for air

It is not a fantasy
There is no mermaid or
Being in the water that
Provides air for me

I must rise to the top
Alone-on my own
Panic in the waters
Ripples from my aching feet

Kicking and thrashing
No air
Fear, the only motivation
I fight against it with doubt

My mind slows
Body begins to drift
Another addition for
Deep sea predators

My eyes open
I immediately squint
The sunrays shine valiently
Floating on my back

I never knew how I made it
Would I believe if I knew?
Walking blindly in to the future
Each day, trusting a little more

I was weak from fighting the waters
I was scared,
Not knowing if I could make it back

Now, I fight a little easier

Missing Children: Awareness

Ok, In less than 12 hours, I have heard of 3 children being abducted/going missing , just in my state alone!!! They weren't kidding when they say "A child goes missing every 40 seconds"

I look at my little ones and think " Have I really taught them about safety? Will they understand when something wrong is happening to them?" My being unsettled on any answers, drives me to want to do more. I'm determined to come up with some methods that keep my kids aware and alert.

I know in many places around America-a child could run a mile on a dirt road and parents feel safe because no body is around..In small towns, kids play ball in the street and mom's in the kitchen cooking or watching tv. Let's be real here-many lazy parents out there.. In small communities, people tend to believe there's always going to be that one nosy neighbor watching out their window. Sorry all!! It's not something you should rely on!

My kids are right outside my huge doors-made of glass-so I can see them. Guess what? I go to the restroom real quick, come back and one is behind the building while the other one is heading toward the road! All it takes is a second! Although I live in a place that's small, I still keep an eye on my children-no, a HAWKS EYE with an eye in the back of my head too! Why? Because anything could happen!!!

I've lived in 3 huge cities with my kids as well. Including NYC. My first experience was just 10min after I got off the bus with them. One of the kids let go of my hand and was further down on an escalator-he walked down and got off...(BIG THANK YOU TO NYC POLICE DEPT) Thank GOD a police man happen to be right there! He took my son's hand and brought him up. He looked at me so sternly and said I need to KEEP my kids next to me at all times! He said someone WILL snatch my child in a heartbeat. I was upset obviously and almost in tears. I looked at him and said-Thank You! I definitely will keep them close to me. I wish there were more cops like you around.

One man with a big heart, with kindness and understanding -he noticed, I was pregnant-with 2kids (toddlers) plus luggage..and struggling with it all. He used that opportunity to kick my brain in gear. I forgot about being tired from a 2 day trip and many bus transfers. I almost hugged the guy and at the same time almost in tears! hehehe

For those who believe your kids are 'safe': I'm saying WAKE UP!!! Open your eyes and actually WATCH your kids! STOP BEING LAZY!!! GET OFF YOUR BUTT!!!!! I don't know how many of you watch the news or read 'serious' stuff online-but here, in my blogs-I'm telling you now...EDUCATE YOURSELF AND YOUR CHILDREN ABOUT SAFETY - WATCH YOUR KIDS 24/7 -DON'T TRUST PEOPLE SO EASILY- DON'T RELY ON THE NEIGHBORS/FAMILY/FRIENDS TO DO THE WATCHING FOR YOU-CHOOSE WISELY, EACH DECISION CONCERNING YOUR CHILDREN--RESEARCH--ASK QUESTIONS

I could go on for HOURS, but instead: I'll leave you with some links and how to make an ID kit for your kids.

ASK LOCAL FIRE/POLICE DEPT FOR A DNA KIT- This is actually a long q-tip you rub on your child's gums. Put in cup (untouched) to dry 30min. Then, place in envelope provided and TAPE it closed -DO not lick it..It screws up the dna on the q-tip. Put in your Freezer for safe keeping.

ID KITS-You can order these or have them made FREE anywhere. But, what I do is: take a few recent photos of my kids and write on the back-AGE LOCATION DOB and PHONE # ( my number and my emergency contact #) Why? Because if someone hurt me and took my kids-then, whoever finds me, will be able to contact someone else and know that I have kids missing possibly! I keep one in my purse-but in a busy atmosphere, I actually keep one in my pocket as well.

RUN

Bumped in to the wall,

Smacked forehead on sink

I could have been on time.

What's wrong with me?

Morning rush? PFFFT

I'm Takin' the day off!

This poem is about someone who is never late for work. They're like OCD with 'time'.. However, in a time like that, which is rare, the person has an option. Go to work distracted and distracting others over your morning, being frustrated and even angry, risking a blow up at work, etc. Now, I know plenty of people who could have a morning like this and you'd never know it! They are quiet individuals and either know how to compose themselves well, or really have got the whole-"leave personal at the door" rule down.

NAH! Everyone brings a little personal to work. It's inevitable and bound to happen eventually.

Hello! This is a unique poem..I've never written something like this. I call it a Dialogue Poem lol I hope you like it! :)

Someone said, "Be careful what you wish for."

No whisper of, "It will happen, and you cannot change the thoughts and words."

Another said,"Go ahead, sign the dotted line."

No one ever said, "You'll be stripped of your rights."

A friend said, "Try it! It's the next best thing."

Behind your back uttered, "So gullable, they'll try anything."

Lovers told you, "I respect you. Please give us a chance."

To their other lover explained, "It's just a friend. Nothing happened."

I look in the mirror and say, "Who are you becoming?"

When all tears have been shed

When the last shout rings out

The final echo is heard

A shot blast; at last light of day

Words become no more

Feeling and emotion controlled

All like-minded

With a number, not a name

The very thought of

Dream, hope, love, God

Erased and forgotten

Non-existant; lack of choice

Not one smile left

No step out of line

A child's laughter tinkles

Another Bang in the night

The line grows longer

All aching for living

Like wild horses

Grazing and playing

That life gone

Free will and thought

Free speech and movement

Disappeared in a blink

Longing for what could be

No help came in uniform

No whirs of engines in the sky

No plea to "Leave no man behind"

Stripped of self dignity; angered

Each began to softly

Pass along a message

To stand together

One revolt

One impact by all

Valiant Shouts!

Victory in hearts

Shots rang out

Like bombs dropping

Automatic weapons used

Grenades splatter skin

ALL SILENCED

Not a soul left

As the over takers cheered

Covered in skin and blood

They looked at the bodies

The earth around them

The Day the World Cried

Whom had remained

A mighty strike came upon them

They too, were too late

Tears turned them pale

Their bodies became frail

One by one

By the Overseer

Imagine families separated. Millions standing in constant moving lines. Stepping over bodies, bones, and blood. Their own flesh, thin, weathered, scarred , broken and bruised. Famished , so hungry they’d devour their own excrement. Like robots, they do what they are told. Until one day, they finally understand they can fight for life. They are killed. Then, the over takers are killed by the overseer.

This is not an exaggerated story. There are lands being take over. Genocide! In my poem, I’ve left it up to the reader’s interpretation in the ending. Why? The overseer could be God ridding the land of all mankind. OR, could be a dictator seeing the job he wanted, finished. Then, he kills those that did the killing, so he can start anew. Again, Left to imagination.

Due to lack of resources and limited medical aid, it is going to take a great deal of time to sort out what needs to be done. If you want to make donations to help out Myanmar, please make sure the organization is legit! There are many you can pick from government approved organizations! Having prayer chains and gatherings is encouraged as well.
